Like many other divers, I began diving while on vacation. I had my first experiences in 1991 in Kenya (Africa). At that time, at the age of 30, I discovered scuba diving.
\nI had always been fascinated by the underwater world, and there I had the opportunity to explore it. From then on, I was primarily a vacation diver.<\/p>\n
Because I repeatedly suffered from ear infections, I was only able to pursue diving sporadically
\nin Spain, Egypt, and other locations.<\/p>\n
In 2021, I was in Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt). There, I completed my dive instructor training in order to introduce other people to the underwater world. In 2024, I also began technical diving in the OC (open-circuit) discipline. My goal was to see what could still be discovered on the bottom of Lake Hemmoor (Kreidesee).<\/p>\n
At the beginning of 2024, the time had come. My Triton MCCR arrived, and I completed my training on the unit. At that point, rebreather diving completely convinced me. I began completing additional training on various units in order to understand them and speak knowledgeably about their use. Through this process, I realized that every rebreather has its place, and that it always depends on the purpose and environment in which it is used.
\nToday, I dive the Scuba Force SF2 as a backmount rebreather.<\/p>\n
With the exception of a few training dives, I now dive exclusively on rebreathers.<\/p>\n
